I took this photo in Sarajevo near the spot where Gavrilo Princip assassinated the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, triggering the First World War. The assassin's footprints - markers imbedded in the pavement - were torn up when Yugolavia disintegrated into hatred.I think we shall be very lucky if we don't end up repeating ourselves.
