Thread watch

The discussion following Balbulican's post at Stageleft on Frances Widdowson and her (and Albert Howard's) new book, has managed to bring Widdowson herself into the fray to defend her work. The results are a lively intellectual discussion pulling in social theory, Aboriginal issues, and epistimology. Widdowson and one or two others seem to be arguing from - if I can actually put so many contradictions into a single description - the perspective of a 19th century-Marxist-colonialist-Capitalist-essentialist-Euro-episteme idealogue. The other commentators appear to be a little more current and less confused. Anyway, go read.
